I've got a 97 T100 that I did a 1.5" BJ Spacer lift up front and a slight torsion bar crank and add a leaf in back. Had everything realigned. I've been running this setup for about two months and everything has been working great. The one problem... I get a vibration when I'm in 4 wheel drive going over about 40 mph. Do I need to think about dropping my transfer case to take some of the angle off of the CV joints or is something else going on. Thanks guys
Jon

New tires and balance and no vibration in 2wd so I don't think its a wheel/tire issue, and not been driving off road recently. Its really only a four wheel drive at speed issue but it definetely didn't have a vibration before the BJ lift so I'm sort of thinking it's the CV angle and at slower speeds I just can't feel it.

I run the ball joint spacers but they were machined down to 1" by Roger Brown. I don't have any unusual vibrations but I don't usually run 40mph or faster in 4wd.

Have you measured the angle that the CV joint is at? Take a peek and see if anything is binding...

Probably CV joint angle is too steep. I had a similar thing happen when I did a spacer lift on my '97 Runner and the angles were too steep. I lowered the lift and it went away.

x3... CV angle too high. Let it back down some.
Also, you didn't say if you have manual hubs or not; If not, you should strongly consider.

Was pretty sure my CV angle was the culprit. Thanks for confirming. I'll probably do a front diff drop from 4 crawler in a couple of weeks. Also, the manual hubs are on the long list....... thanks

Fwiw, if you plan to wheel I'd move the hubs up the list... Easier to do it 1st than having to replace a CV joint due to too much angle.
