I have a pair of Aisin manual hubs that I found at a pick n' pull and I'm not sure what they are for. I found them nicely bagged up in the back of a mid 90's 4Runner but the body of the hub is 1/2" shorter that the Aisin hubs on my '88 IFS. What do you all think?

count splines on hub gear. if its 30 is for a solid axle 79-85. if its 27 its IFS, but you said they are shorter. IIRC some other vehicles came with aisin hubs too?

OK, I've counted the splines and came up with 26. The body measures 1 and 3/8" from the mounting surface to the back of the dial cap. It uses the cone plit retainers and the mounting holes measure 3 1/2" across. I found a pic. of a Tacoma hub and it looks shorter that earlier Toyota hubs. http://www.sonoransteel.com/aisin_manual_hubs.html
