Crap. Either I stripped out the auto tranny drain hole and the metal stuck to the bolt or I stripped the bolt. Anyone have any idea what size the replacement bolt is? Anyone strip the pan and come up with a fix that doesn't involve replacing the pan, better yet not even having to drop the pan? Someone said there are oversize self tapping pan bolts but not much luck on a Sunday.

You should be able to take the bolt to a hardware store like Lowe's or Home Depot and check the size on it... I know that Lowe's usually closes at 8pm on Sunday...
I'll have to find my FSM and see what it lists fer the 1993 tranny bolt...

Most parts stores carry a replacement plug made of a rubber material that has a wedged screw assembly in the rubber. You turn the screw with an allen wrench and the plug expands into the threads. They have been around forever. They work like a drywall anchor does.

Lucked out this time. There were enough threads left to grab the new bolt and it sealed. FYI: xmission drain bolt part # 90341-10011 and it is a 10M 1.50 threads. Auto Xmission Pan, if you have to go that far is Part # 35106-35022. That's for a 4x4. I don't know if the 2WD is the same.

I've had this happen on a couple of my trucks before. (not my doing) I have found that the bolt is softer than the threads, at least in my cases. I cleaned up the threads in the pan and installed the new bolt with no problems.
