last night i was driving my uncles blazer that hes trying to sell and i went into an s turn and lost control on some water and hydroplaned in to a tree im fine and the blazer held up really well but the airbags deployed and when i told him that he said thats the biggest problem because there so expensive to get replaced does any one know how much its gonna cost to have driver and passenger air bags replaced???

Depending on how old the blazer is, and if you file an insurance claim, the vehicle will probably be considered totalled. Air bags run in the thousands to replace usually. <img src="/forums/images/graemlins/barf.gif" alt="" />

Sometimes those airbag sensors have to be replaced as well if you replace the airbags. I wouldn't want to be the one to buy that thing after you put new airbags in it, though. <img src="/forums/images/graemlins/scared.gif" alt="" />

There used to be a guy on ebay that sold used(undeployed) airbags for all sorts of vehicles. He could probably give you some advice on how to replace them too.

we found out that we could consider the car totaled and neither of our insurences will be affected so thats what were doing I figured that would happen. As long as your fine with not being able to probably ever sell it, just keep it and save up and fix it. Who knows, turn it into a trail rig  .

Who knows, turn it into a trail rig . are you sure you get to keep the truck after the insuance pays you for it because i thought the insurance company sold it to a junk yard or something?

You'll have to pay the salvage fee to keep it. Ususally a few hundred bucks.

Yeah you will have to pay the salvage fee, because some people insist on using the money to fix their truck. I know I would if it was the Raider and in budget.
