just wondering if anyone else is towing their wheeler with a Tundra. i'm looking for opinions/ideas on air ride and/or overload springs for rear support. my Tundra tows just fine but it's time to upgrade the rear suspension(starting to sag a little) since i can't upgrade to the new 5.7 Tundra yet .. here's a pic. it didn't sit this low the first few times i towed my rig with it but it's obvious that the weight it starting to take it's toll on the rear springs. ![[Linked Image]](http://i47.photobucket.com/albums/f192/maloafam/DSC02373.jpg) Thanks in advance for any input.

I occasionally tow a snocat with my F250 at work so I went with the air bags. You can stiffen them up pretty good and let them back down with normal loads so it doesn't kill your back. I got them at Schwabs. 2 yrs so far and no problems.

thanks guys !!! that write up on the airbags was all i needed to see. i was pretty much leaning towards bags from the beginning but i thought i'd get a little more info before spending the dough.

For those of you that are towing your wheeler with your Tundra. What kind of fuel mileage are you getting? Did you have any problems with the trans, over heating, slipping? I know I'll have to beef up the rear springs to handle to extra load. I'll be towing a 91 4door SAS'd 4Runner.
I'm looking at a used 2000 x-cab 4wd with 145k miles for $6900. Owner claims it to be in the great condition.
Thanks

is that a V8 tundra or 6? if its the 6, id definetly put a big old tranny cooler in it. great price on a Tundra either way.

Its a 4.7L v8. I think I'm going to pass on it cause I'm not liking what I'm hearing about towing issues. Thanks

Steven The towing issues that I know of involve owners that don't. They don't turn off the OD when towing, they don't have a cooler and they don't keep the transmission fluid fresh and clean. HTH ~ Air bags and a Hellwig are must have towing gear.

You don't need to do anything to your Tundra. Just need a quality brake controller (prodigy) and a weight distributing hitch. I like the soft springs and with the WD hitch it rides awesome. I have plenty of power to hold hills at 70 with well over 13K gvw. I get about 12-13 mpg when towing. I have the same rig you do...'05 Grey DC limited 4X4
