1987 toyota 4x4 22re. I parked my truck for about 2 weeks. Went out to fire it up and nothing. Lights worked, some things did not. I found out that the 80 amp fuse next to the battery had blown. How did that happen? Anyways throw a new one in and it fires right up. Let it run for about 15 minutes. Shut it off. Next week i need my truck, nothing again, this time no lights no nothing. I checked all the fuses by my battery, they all are fine. I havnt checked the ones on my kick panel but will. How do i keep popping fuses when my truck is just sitting?

some times just "rotating" / "moving" the positive post clamp on the battery works ..
sometimes there can be a build-up/neg clamping on the post... IF the battery is left in there .

Make sure you test the 80A fuse with a multi-meter. I've had it blow before and it still looked perfectly ok. As to why your're blowing fuses, I have no idea. I would imagine some sort of a short somewhere <img src="/forums/images/graemlins/confused.gif" alt="" />

THere should be a fusible link before the under hood fuse box, check to see id you have *any* power at the box.
Once you find the problem start checking with the ohm meter to try & isolate what's causing it.

A common short location causing the 80 amp fusible link to blow is the o2 sensor wire melting on the exhaust. Look there first.
