A good drive in the snow is my favorite. The picture shows where I was Saturday. Well, it's time for new tires so if you have any thoughts about what would be best for snow, let me know. Thanks. ![[Linked Image]](http://i171.photobucket.com/albums/u306/quixotix/DSCN0975.jpg)

Depends. What attributes are you seeking?
- low road noise - exceptional tread life - good on rock - good on mud - good economy (smaller tires) - big footprint and/or clearance (bigger tires) - good handling on wet pavement - reinforced sidewalls - low price
Let us know what your priorities are.

I was really just asking if anyone knew of tires that they thought were exceptional in snow. But, if you want details, you got them!
Required: - DOT approved
Most Important: - Traction in snow thatÆs not too deep (say 0-12ö) where reaching bottom is a possibility - Traction on wet or slushy roads - Traction on compact snow and ice - Traction in deep snow (see picture in original post)
Somewhat important: - Traction on dirt - Traction in mud, usually earthy mud thatÆs not too sticky or too deep
Least important: - Traction on solid rock - Traction in sand - Road noise - Tread life - High MPG
IÆm looking at tires in the 32 or 33 in range size, maybe 285-75 16Æs or 305-70 16Æs. IÆll probably get tires that cost less than $250 a piece, but if you convince me that there is a great tire that cost a little more, then IÆd pay more. Currentely IÆm considering Parnelli Jones Dirt Grip tires and Super SwamperÆs Trxus MT tires (I also looked at Super SwamperÆs SSR, but the Trxus has a little more siping which I thought might be better for me).

Ten psi? I already run at 5 psi and hope to drop to at least 4 and maybe to 3 with bigger tires. Thanks for the recommendation though.

We just had a ton of snow here in Minnesota about two weeks ago, and my ProComp All Terrains worked GREAT! The are 31x10.5r15's, but this summer I am upgrading to 33's. Again, no problem whatsoever in the 18 inches of snow we received- but I am thinking of switching to the PJ Dirt Grips. The PC's have handled everything I have thrown at them but I want something a little more aggressive. The Dick Cepek Mud Country looks pretty good as well! Pretty good siping for a MT.
2005 Gen III- 265/75r16 Hercules Terra Trac II All-Terrain Tires...and more to eventually come! (Former-- 1998 Montero(LWB)- 285/75R16 Goodyear Wrangler Dura-Trac tires on ProComp Rims ,OME Shocks/Springs, 2-inch torsion lift, K&N air/oil filter, factory rear locker)

Tall narrow tires always worked best for me in snow. Mud too.

Hate to contradict what people have said here but if you want flotation you need big and wide tires. Do a little searching for the Icelandic Rigs and you will see and learn what its like to run in snow. Also I love that pic of yours in the snow...thats sweet pic of the deep snow.
