Hi. I'm thinking of looking at some FSJs, like early '80s Cherokees & Wagoneers. What should I look for?
What are some weak points? What are some must-have features?
Thanks.

I'd be looking only for newer ones that had fuel injection.. Big Jim

Is there a certain year when fuel injection showed up?

Somebody here will know. I suspect it would be with a 4'0 engine.. maybe around 85/87. Big Jim

The last of the FSJs was the Grand Wagoneer which was built through '91. IIRC, they all had the AMC 360 with the Motorcraft 2150. It must have been the last carburated vehicle sold in America. No EFI on any FSJ that I know of.
I've looked into a GM-type throttle body conversion for my '88, but I've never made the leap.
