The 10W-30's a bit thin,especially if it's burning oil.
How much do you go through?
If it's less than a litre for every 4 tanks of gas, you may be ok.
If it's a liter per tank, and there's a nasty dark cloud behind you, then not much gonna help that other than a rebuild.
The heavier Castrol was the best I ever experienced in the 2.6L.
And even a re-build will need to deal with the carb controls.

Check which carb you got, it is extrememly important.
If it's the Mitsu carb (made by Mikuni), you have a chance...
Any missing hoses and bits can probably be found from a wreckers in WA. But it's of no help if it's not the Mitsu carb.

Need a Spot
It is a Mikuni carb.
I go through about a litre 1 month.so about every 4-5 tanks of gas. There really is no cloud of smoke behind me when i am driving it only smokes on initial startup and if i sit there and let it idle for a while. I am not sure but i think the guy may still have all the emission controls and stuff that he took off. It is just a matter of getting a hold of him and finding out where evrything goes

I'll check out Captain Crunch's mods. In the meantime, I'll check out the torsion bar and figure out how to adjust it.....currently my truck is a little higher in the back, so lifting the front should level it out. I was about to buy one of the Hgihlift Jacks today, but then i realized that I really don't have any good jacking points that the jack would work on, with the exception of the bumper corners...which would more than likely be too soft, and would bend. the highlift jack won't reach underneath to the frame anywhere either..hmmmm, what to do? Perhaps i should bolt on some hitch mounts, front and back, get a portable winch, (which will fit either hitchmount), then i could also use the hitchmounts as front and back jacking points.

What do you figure I could get a set of those Gen II coilovers for in order to lift my truck a bit more in the rear? I would love to fit some 33's on there.

Coffee anytime would be great!

Now you're on the right track.
With a bit of luck you might be ok!

There are full manuals in PDF format out there for your truck. I think they're on a Russian site, but the manuals are in English.
They really help!

Yeah,
Lifting points do matter!

Check the archives (I think), there was a write-up somewhere on how to do the t-bars.

You might be able to get 33's in there without the Gen2 coils.

You're welcome to try swapping my 33x12.5's in to test.
What you got on there now?

The Gen2 coils will have to come from the USA (I think), and you might be best off posting a request for help locating a set. I never needed them (I'm rear leaf), so don't remember who/when/what. If I remember, they'll gain you 2".

Oops! I was thinking of my volkswagen Westfalia! My Mighty Max Mitsu has leaf springs in the back ....so perhaps an add-a-leaf would be the best option for lifting the back. I currently have 31 x 10.5 Geolander A/T's on it. And they seemed to work pretty darn good yesterday in the mud.....and they are pretty much brand new (came with truck). But I would like to get some bigger meats to increase my clearance. I guess I should get set up with the proper recovery gear first, then start looking at performance improvement mods.
