Are there any sway bars around that are 28mm, that would bolt in a gen II? If there are we could pick them up cheap at a pick and pull. There are 3 gen II's around my area in pick and pull yards. I could look at once i get the tool to measure the bars. So with the conversion I just did thats 583.4851 USD.

to be honest, I have no idea about the 28mm sway bar swap, maybe someone else on here might know. additionally, I am pretty sure that the current price is not increased like you may be thinking b/c of machining it out to 29mm. The original price was about that to begin with. That price includes the air ram assembly with air line and switch valve along with shipping. without the air ram, it was approx half as much money. I am going to keep my 29mm sway bar and just get mine machined out to 29mm. keep me posted on what you guys want to do. I will let frank know as soon as you tell me for sure.

You can count me in for a pin-style manual articulator. My front bar measures 28mm, though so I'm probably no help to your group purchase intentions.

no, as a matter of fact, frank said he had several 28mm units leftover, so it should work out great for you. Are you absolutely certain your sway bar is 28mm? what truck is it on? We just want to be certain b/c we don't want you buying something that is wrong size, that would suck. only reason I ask about the measurement is b/c frank said just about all the SR's in the states had 29mm bars on them, so just make sure on the measurement and I will relay all the numbers of interest to him once I hear from you for certain.

The bar is on my 95 SR. I don't have a micrometer to measure it with, so I was using a machinists ruler, looking down from the top of the radiator. To be absolutely certain, I'll need to pull the skid plate & get closer, but I was pretty confident that it was 28 & not 29mm. I'm not sure if I'll have time to do that today, but I'll give it a shot.

I would recommend doing it with a caliper type tool b/c no matter how close you get, using a ruler still leaves room for human error. the only reason I stress having no doubt in your measurement is b/c:
1. all SR's that have been measured here in the US have had 29mm bars that I know of.
2. you don't want to pay good money and have it be useless b/c it doesn't fit.
let me know.

i remember a guy in AZ who was making swaybar dissconnects last winter for around 150 USD and CAD eliminator kits but nobody was interested or found these things useless. If only we had bought back then <img src="/forums/images/graemlins/smile.gif" alt="" />
