About 3 months ago I did the timing chain and head gasket on my 1986 22re truck. Everything was fine untill recently it has been a little loud, i thought it might be the valves so yesterday i went to adjust them and they were ok. I happened to look down and noticed that the two bolts that hold the drivers side rail on were worn partialy. It only is loud after the vehicle warms up and when it is idling or there is no load on the motor. it goes away when there is a load on it. any ideas what may be causing this before i tear into it?

Sounds like you found the noise source. Although I've never had this happen to me, it could perhaps be a faulty tensioner. I know the 22R engines have slight differences thru the years, and maybe the wrong guides/bolts were supplied/installed. Sorry, but just a guess.

Sounds like the tensioner isn't extending all the way out due to (a) low oil pressure, (b) wrong bolt in the oil pump top hole keeping the tensioner from extending.
I use the front two oil pan bolts to replace the OEM guide bolts when using the engnbldr.com steel rail kit.
I have seen where the tensioner was loose and no oil pressure was allowed to build against the plunger
My advice is to pull the valve cover, see if the wrong bolt is hitting the tensioner. If so, it is an easy fix. If that isn't it, pull the timing cover off and replace the timing kit. May have a bad tensioner.
What kit did you use?

I used the ENGNBLDR timing kit and if I remember correctly i used oil pan bolts for the guide bolts.... hmmm hopefully its not the tensioner, but I guess I will find out.
