Getting the Wheeling Fever
Hello folks,

I'm real new to the forum, although I registered a while back...only posted a couple of times. I've been a member at YT for a couple of years now and have since searched for ideas on making my own soft top for my '86. I did use the search feature here to look for ideas, but I keep getting no matches no matter the terms I used. Maybe I'm doing something wrong??? Would someone mind helping me out a little and directing me to any info on how others have done the soft top thingy? I'm not into buying one. The designs being marketing don't really suit all of my needs.

Any help appreciated. Thanks!

Matthew

That was one of the ideas I'd seen at YT. It was great because I realized a handmade job could be done, atleast. I only wish he had more pics closer up to the details and more his process.

When I do something it will be basically like this. Only, I want to be able to put a seal between the framing and the body of the truck. I want NO leaks during hard rains. I also want to be able to put my Thule roof rack up top as opposed to something welded up to the cage frame. This way I maintain adjustability for different sized loads.

Thanks for posting. Anyone else with any other knowledge please feel free to share. I'm open.
