Getting the Wheeling Fever
I am thinking about taking my 85 yota truck on a long drive. but the only thing that would bother me about this is that my truck when i am going down the free-way has a lot of in cab noise. i was wondering what are some things you guys have done or that i can do to quiet the in cab noise of my truck

Turn the stereo up or insulate the heck out of it and make sure everything is tight.

pull the door pannels and spray in that wal mart bed liner on the inside of the doors.... in door, out door carpet makes a difference also.

If your oem carpet/vinyl is still good, pick up some industrial carpet padding(used in businesses), it is about 1/4"-3/8" thick, and run it under your oem set-up. Make sure to get enough to run up the fire wall. The padding will absorb most of the sound from the engine bay, and is cheaper than buying the stick on sound proofing. If you have time, you could pull th headlinder and spray on the under coating there to help cut down on wind noise as well,

With the truck as old as it is, inspect the grommet donuts that come thru the firewall; your harnesses on either side, and where the steering column goes thru.

Can't find it offhand, but one of the guys here just fixed his cab noise with some pipe insulation and some sealant. <img src="/forums/images/graemlins/kewl.gif" alt="" />

Find any adhesive backed foam rubber, preferably closed cell, so it doesnt take on water cut it up, and stick it to any metal surface especially inside the doors. The peel and seal might make your car smell like a roof taring trailer in the summer. It can also drip asphalt.
I read that the spray in foam insulation is bad because water can cause it to smell rotten.
