You won't really find much here for what you want. There may be other sites with more info out there but your best bet is to google it. You'll be looking at a rather significant overall cost, just remimber the engine needs to be mounted and be hooked up to the drivetrain somehow. Good luck.

i know it's been done before, although not as common as a chevy v8 swap. if you get the whole car it would be really helpful.

A few places to look for parts/adapters:

web page

Northwest Offroad sells engine mount adapters, custom oil pans, headers, etc for swapping a 5.0 into a Runner.

Also, Downey Offroad offers some info on swapping Chevy V-8's, but not much on the 5.0 Ford.

Biggest advantage to the 5.0, front distributor, not as much firewall massaging with a 3 lb sledge to clear the rear mounted distributor on the Chevy motors.

As stated above, if you are going to attempt this swap, get the whole donor car and keep it at your house / shop until you are sure you have everything swapped correctly and all of the bugs worked out.

Body Damage is Cool
Advance Adapters makes a transfer case adapter that would let you use a Ford automatic. Not sure which automatics they work with or which one you've got in your T-bird. Take a look and let us know what you learn. -- Matt
