Pretty much just trim. Powertrain is the same. Body is the same.

You'll usually pay a little more for the name 'Honda' - otherwise, they are the same vehicle, built on the same production line.

Six Isuzus, so far... still have three of them.

These guys are way off. The Honda is considered the more superior truck in every way.

These guys are way off. The Honda is considered the more superior truck in every way. Joe the special Honda-engineered high-tech logo sign on the nose provides about 5% improvements in the wind resistance over the Isuzu version. This leads to the better fuel consumption, the prolonged drivetrain lifetime, etc. This also allowed Honda engineers to take another approach to the suspension tuning: every review notices that Passport rides better than Rodeo.

In the early to mid '90s, I was in a Honda dealership picking up a used Civic for my wife. I asked a sales rep why someone would buy a Passport rather than a Rodeo. The only explanation that he could come up with was that you were buying the Honda name and that it "SHOULD" lead to a better resale value.

I thought there wasn't a difference. I second the comment on resale value check kelly blue book lately.

I thought there wasn't a difference. I second the comment on resale value check kelly blue book lately. On the first gen Rodeo's, the only differences was the logo AND the C pillar on the Passports in the back was always body colored. Isuzu's C pillar was always black. I don't remember if that carried over to the 2nd gen Rodeo/Passport... If memory serves me correct, it did not carry over.

1st Gen Passports also have different wheel well flares.
And the 2nd Gen Passports never got the clear/red tail lights that the 2000+ Rodeos had.
