Need a Spot
Anyone!

I am swapping a 1992 chevy 4.3 vortec into my 1986 solid axle converted 4 runner. I have everything (including the chevy harness) except knowhow on the wiring. I know I can buy a Howell or Painless harness, but I am running out of money (wife). Can anyone give me some info on the 4.3 vortec to 22RE wiring w/ colors. Remember I live in California so it MUST smog legal.

What is the point of this comment?

The best place to look for this info might be either marlin's site or pirate. I don't konw of many who have gone this route without using a carb.

I believe it should be:
"I think you're stupid"

Anyway.. Pirate is the board for 4.3L swap info. I think there are several options for doing that motor, but the info is there on pirate. I'd highly recommend that you search for it, which may require figuring out how to direct google at pirate or buying a red star for $20.
If you ask without searching, don't say you weren't warned.. :-)

What motor do you have in there now that will spin 36" tires?

I currently run a 5MGE from a supra, but being an earlier year than my truck, its un-smoggable.

As for that canuck character, he's just a blo-hard with no sense of humor.
