hey i smashed up the front of my truck pretty good... anyway i was lookin for any advise on how to fix it. the accident pushed the radiator into the fan, so the fan cant move. deformed the front sheetmetle piece, and bent the mounts that connect the bumber to the frame via weld. the frame is still good though!

Tie a rope around the bent radiator support and tie the other end around a tree. Reverse up with a bit of speed until it's semi straight again. Do the same with any other parts that are bent. Find replacement panels... mount em up and you're laughin.

I've done this with a couple of vehicles now and apart from a few strange stares from the neighbours it all went pretty well. Thats how I fixed this:

My truck was smashed in when I bought it .Parked in front of a bigger truck ,chocked the wheels on both, used two cum a longs to pull out the rad grill support, replaced the radiator, grill, hood, latch, took the torch to the old bumper.used 2" pipe for the new bumper.used "great stuff foam to help hold the headlights in place then painted it black, it will never be perfect but its pretty good.I got familiar with the local pull a part

ok so i pulled the front sheet metel back to somewhat how it used to be... but anyway the radiator was done, the fan shroud got chewed up in the power steering pulley, and the fan got pinched up on the top end by the radiator and the fan shroud, so it couldent move unitll i pulled the radiator out. now the fan seems to be ok but when it was rotated the fan seemed to be a little wavey. its not perfectly straight, as far as i can tell the fan clutch is ok but do you think it would be a good idea to replace the fan or would it still work. my concern is having this wavey fan turning at a high speed might cause something bad to happen.

id replace it. in one of my brighter moments some years back, i replaced the alternator and forgot to tighten the bottom pivot bolt....alternator was cocked to one side and the lateral stress it put on the crank pulley caused it to shear off the pulley hub, costing me a new crank pulley, alternator and a 6 mile walk home at 2 am. even if the fan pulley itself isnt bent, pulleys arent meant to take stress in the wrong direction(anything but linear movement). ps bodywork sucks! good luck man

I had the same problem on that Falcon I showed earlier. The fan got stuck under the rad support. It had a bent fin but I didn't replace it straight away. After I replaced everything else that was bent/busted, I drove her around for a couple of weeks. The wobble from the out of balance fan got worse and the twisted fin sheered off at high speed.

It demolished my new radiator and put an interesting dent in the hood. I also chewed out my water pump. That little episode taught me to do things the right way the first time... lol

The guys have you set up pretty well; take a moment and look at the pulley grooves on everything from the side of the truck; if they're not lined up, you might've slightly bent a bracket.

Give 'er a good lookin' over.
