O.k. new here, this looks like an imformative site.
Engine & head have been rebuilt. Will crank and run. If out of gear, flooring gas will cause motor to choke and turn off. Pressing gas at a slower rate (still can be rather quickly pressed down) causes no problem, rev up fine.
Let clutch out too quickly and give too much pedal too quickly, engine will choke and turn off. Ride clutch a litte, while holding rpm's up a little will work to get you rolling every time.
Going threw the gears, giveing more than half pedal, engine will skip and buck(with a little black smoke, too rich)if you back off pedal just a little, will smoothe out. If you keep rpm very high, can give all pedal but no power or skiping.
Parts replacement list:new,O2 sensor, coolant temp sensor, fuel pressor regulator
savage yard:used,Mass air meter,engine control modual,Coil
have timeing jacked all the way up,(just to have power to drive) I have checked the cap and button.
Local shop checked for fuel pump, pressure. Said the ecu was shuting off injector, had a vaccum leak around second injector(used a smoke machine to find it). I fixed that today, still running the same.
Rebuild motor was from older trooper with fi. May be running the trooper distribitor, would that matter?
THANKS FOR READING! PLEASE HELP!!! <img src="/forums/images/graemlins/scared.gif" alt="" />

Body Damage is Cool
IF YOU HAVE THE OLD TROOPER DIST IN THE CAR IT WILL NOT RUN CORRECTLY, BUT IT SHOULDNT HOOK UP THE WIRING HARNESS IS DIFF, UNLESS SOME ONE DID A REWIRE TO MAKE IT TRY AND RUN, IT WILL NOT RUN CORRECTLY, IF THE DIST IS PUSHED ALL THE WAY TO IT,S STOP ONE DIRECTION OR THE OTHER THE TIMING BELT IS ON WRONG, , COULD EASILY HAVE BEEN INSTALLED WRONG EVEN WITH THE MARKS LINED UP, THE LOWER CRANK PULLEY IS NOTORIOUS FOR SLIPPING AN D THROWING THE TIMING MARKS OFF, CLASSIC SYMPTOMS , JERRY
