first i'm sorry if this turns out rather long...... its been nearly 3 years since ive posted on this which is about how long ive been working on this truck, have checked back now and thne but have decided to not bore u with my painstakingly slow process.... so heres where im at. 87 s-10 reg cab 4x4, southern box and cab and new front clip, new paint job including the frame and lined the inside and underside of box and cab with truck bed coating, yes inside the cab too.... leather seats outta a jeep and made my own dash too... 3 and a half various wireing harnes's later i no longer want to look at any wiring diagram again! but glow everything works but..... thats where u guys come in..... i have a glow plug controller and the glow plugs are working fine, im intrested in how the vacuum throttle advace works (wiring and vacuum) WIF wiring the return fuel lines, from the injectors to the pump but then theres one extra port, i dunno where this goes, i have been able to piece some of this together myself but would appriciate one complete discription of each of these to ensure this is all correct. tuff to find the time to finish this and i gotta write my exam for my mechanics liscence this week which my G/F is really making me study for( for some reason she thinks we'l get married if i get my liscence???) anyway Thanks again people your all very helpfull!!!!! and i'll post pics soon!!!!
ps has the c223 ever been used in industral applications? reffers etc, looked in achive but cant find notthing....

Not sure I understand the question. "WIF wiring the return fuel lines, from the injectors to the pump but then theres one extra port, i dunno where this goes" If you are talking about the injector pump, I might be able to help, as I got one of my C223T Troopers with the engine apart and had to, with the help of the good people here, figure out where all the hoses go. There are two hoses associated with fuel supply at the IP. Both go to the fuel tank. Supply and return. They are both the same diameter. Let me know if we are on the same page. Brian Rodgers

same page alright! with everything else goin on ive confused myself, just to verfiy though the injector pump has a simple supply line from filter, then goes to the injectors, the injector return goes to one of the two thinner lines on the back of the injection pump, and the other thin line must be return line for the fuel tank?
WIF> water in fuel wireing, theres three wires that go to this unit if you could give me an idea on polirity and which ones for the dast light and control module etc,
the vacuum advance has three vacuum ports one is obviously a vacuum supply one is for the advance on the pump whats the third for???
thanks soo much again, i just wana get this thing on the road, still have to hook up cooling brakes exhast and much more, just hope i can get it done before my 81 300SD dies..... thanks again

Hello I went outside and looked at the Trooper I still have apart: Three hoses, two are fuel and they are the same size and a smaller hose goes up to the intake manifold for vacuum. WIF, I wrote that system off early on as someone told me it probably didn't work anyway. I cleaned it when I replaced the fuel filter since I run homemade fuel I figured I better have all the protection I can get. I have never seen a light come on, but what the hey, I'll look in the manual. In fact I have some pages in PDF I'll go look after I do my morning chores Brian Rodgers

If memory serves:
The Trooper sedimenter warning light is controlled by a float in the bottom of the fuel filter bowl which grounds a wire to one side of the light in the cluster when the float reaches a certain level. There are two wires on this unit, one which goes to ground and one which goes to the cluster.
Sound similar to what you're dealing with?

I just replaced the fuel filters in both of mine. Both have two wires. I was thinking there was a heater in there, but no. Brian Rodgers

Are you sure that the filter assembly is factory Isuzu? If it's aftermarket, you'll need the float to ground a signal line in order to get it to work with the cluster. Shouldn't be too hard to determine how it works.
If it was heated and had a sensor similar to the Isuzu version, I'd expect to see 4 wires coming from it...

the unit must be factory isuzu, it actully dose have 4 wires going to it at the base of the filter, from there they all go to a Box (module) on the top of the bracket that holds the filter assembely, from there i have three wires to play with. this is the same area with the vacuum switch i was asking about with 3 ports to wires, where do these ports go, one must be supply the other out to IP pump advance, what about the third??? thanks again!
