everytime it rains the tach either stops working or bounces erratically. Once it dries up the tach starts working perfectly again. Any ideas???

Sound like a bad connection due to moisture. Does the problem start with the rain without being driven or does problem start after you've driven in the rain. It may sound like a stupid question but I'm trying to determine if its water being splashed on the wiring as a result of wheel spray etc. or is the problem air dampness.
