UPDATE: I took off the outter hub on the passenger side and turned the 12mm bolt that holds the washers to the axle and the axle & drive shaft turned as well as if it was locked. Yes I did turn the hub to free before removing it.
On the other hub (driver side) when turning the same bolt the cv/axle turns but the drive shaft doesn't.
Any thoughts?

That bolt screws into the end of the CV stub axle, so turning it will turn the axle, regardless of the hub being locked or unlocked. If the other side half axle doesn't turn, then it sounds like the CV joint on that side is broken. Grab the axle shaft and see if it moves around.

4Crawler you are absolutely right it is the inner cv joint. I didn't think it was because the boot did not tear instead the metal shaft was spinning inside the boot.
I already looked up on how to replace it.
Thanks for your help.

JB, if possible, remove the CV axle and take it to the parts store with you to save on the core charge; around $90 or so. <img src="/forums/images/graemlins/kewl.gif" alt="" />
