ok i'm needing some input and help. don't get me wrong i've been searching and i've foung alot of info but can't really find my answear.
So my problem is i just got a used 93 YJ and the guy i got it from took apart both axles and diff. so i'm needing jut the internals of the axle. Now i'm wondering what would fit. Near my town there is a U-Pull it with alot of Cherokee xj 86 to 98 so i'm wondering if if i could use the xj parts into my yj. thanks lee

Nope! Leave the internals alone and find complete front and rear ends that will fit and put them both under there. You will have as much in having the gears bought and installed as you will removing and installing new used ones.. Start looking for a late model yj with the gear ratio you need.
I hope you got a good deal on that ride.

thanks for the input. i traded the person a running 98 chevy cavalier so i think i got the upper hand. the yj starts like a champ and while it was driving it ran great.
Another question has come up after doing some more research. i have a 87 xj that was giving to me for free it has the dana 44 rear and the front axle intack. so now i want to throw that on with a soa kit. any thoughts welding will be no problem. thanks again

Back to gear ratio again... are both rides 4 cyl? Are both 6 cyl? What size tires are on the ride you wish to have the spring over on?

will i've decided to stay with the original yj axle they are 3.55 39xll teeth. the guy gave me the axle internals but they were all chewed up. he also gave me a 3.54 46x13 teeth ring a pinion would this work if i had 3.55 rear and 3.54 in the front? i kind of doubt it but does not hurt to ask. thanks lee

Body Damage is Cool
If you have a part-time system, I wouldn't worry about having a 3.55 in one end and a 3.54 in the other end, because you're not going to be putting it into 4WD on the pavement anyway. In the dirt, there will be enough slippage that the slight difference in geqr ratios won't hurt.

4.09, 4.10 and 4.11 are the same, 3.55 and 3.54 are the same

No worries.
