I'm getting ready to do a timing belt on an '03 3.4 tacoma do you guys know the diameter and thread size for the crankshaft pulley bolts (the puller bolt holes not the pulley retaining bolt)? ah, what size is the head of the crank pulley retaining bolt?
I'm going to use a gates timing belt kit, this includes a new belt, tensioner, and idler pulley. Has anybody used this kit ? pros? cons?

thanx Ron

Are you asking because you want to hold the pulley? If so, those holes are 3/8"

I've never heard of anyone using the gates kit, but do let us know what you think of it

The holes I'm referring to are for the puller attachment bolts to pull the pully off, 3/8? as in american thread? I can get the complete kit through work, at one of our parts suppliers

I don't know what size those are, but also don't remember any problems getting the pulley off. Sorry.
