Thanks to the guys on this forum, I was able to identify a Gen 1 Rear End with LSD and pick up the whole thing with brakes, shocks, and leaf springs all still attached for $75.00. Terrific!
Here's my question: The donor 1986 Montero was being parted out and the seller thought Mitsubishi had a deal with FORD back then. He thought it was actually a narrow FORD 9" rear end assembly. Can anyone confirm this or was he mistaken?

defiantly mistaken. Thats a mitsu differential.

Not only is it a Mitsu rear-end, it's an 8" rear-end.
