I have decided to rebuild my engine on my own and i really dont get some of the parts that come with the master rebuild kits you can buy online. How do you know what size pistons, piston rings, rod bearings or main bearings. if anyone knows how to choose what sizes to get or if you have redone you own engine and have any tips then just leave a comment and let me know.

You must take the engine apart and measure all the mains, rods and cylinders yourself before ordering replacement parts. The best alternative is to have a machine shop measure it for you.. If the engine has ever been rebuilt or if it is worn out it will prolly need reboring and new larger pistons ordered. Big Jim <img src="/forums/images/graemlins/pfft.gif" alt="" />
