nobody is ever on the ford part of 4x4 wire.i need to replace the ignition lock cylinder on a 81 f-150 i have the sterring wheel off but i cant figure out how to get the old one out.does anyone know?please help.
87 dodge power ram 50,35" tires,5 1/2" total lift,4.6 gears,lockers front and rear,Rancho RS5000's,custom front bumper,custom rock sliders,cct extended diff breathers,75 amp alt(40 amp stock),thorely header,K&N,wheeled hard...

I really doubt they're similar, but I recently took the cylinder out of a '98 F-150. I had to install the key, then push a little metal button in and the cylinder pulled right out. I know that most of the time removing the cylinder requires the key be installed, but I'm not sure on an '81.

the problem is my best friend that owns the truck lost his keys (again).
