Morons!
WTF was the guy thinking on Hells Gate??? I mean we have spotted up stock rigs on that thing. Sure, you get em crossed up like that and one slip is crash, BOOM, crunch all the way down. Makes for a more exciting video, but I guess I just prefer to negotiate that riding on the passenger sidewall keeping the rig flat.
The second guy was WAAAAAY too far right (driver oriented) on that thing. The drivers tire needed to be on the face of the rock on the left side to run the center pumpkin down the v-notch. Of COURSE he is gonna roll when its that narrow and SWB of a zuki. <img src="/forums/images/graemlins/rolleyes.gif" alt="" />
How did that Rodeo get down there in the first place? Exactly, what NOT to do when winching. So much for tread lightly.

I know absolutely nothing about spotting, but I know I could have done a better job. No common sense...morons.

Lockers can be great... or increase the chance of a turnover like the first video. Great entertainment.

So much for tread lightly on the last video. It will takes decades for that land to recover.

That first one is the famous Tracy roll from a few years back. Watch it again and watch the spotter, and the front tires closely. That wasn't the spotters fault, it was the driver not doing what the spotter what telling them to do, and continuing to drive far after the truck got into trouble. Paying more attention or simply hitting the brakes would have saved a lot of $$$ there.
The second one...I've spotted many people from that exact spot, the difference is I didn't spot them into that dumb line. Normally that spot is reasonably safe, if you take the correct line. Bad choice on that one.
Bottom line is, if you're gonna have someone spot for you, make sure you trust their abilities, and do what they tell you to. They can sometimes see what you can't see or feel. If you're spotting for someone else, make sure you've got an escape route.

Look at the yahoo who has his hand in the passenger front wheel well trying to push the Rodeo while that wheel is spinning and doing a sawing motion back and forth. Or the guy who runs his hand down the winch line while it's underload, not to mention the jacka$$ sitting on the hold while under load or the jerks behind the rodeo underload trying to push it up that hill which is probably 30 degree or better.
