Need a Spot
The other day I took the doors off my wife's 01 TJ. I pulled the fuse to the dome light, closed the glove box, then went and started it. That's when I realized the radio didn't come on. We drove the TJ the day before and it worked fine. So now I'm getting chewed out for her radio not working. I've pulled the radio out and checked all the fuses, I can't find anything wrong. Any one have any ideas???

Peter

I'l say it before Big Jim does. Put the fuse back in and see if the radio works. If it does, Quadratec has the spring clips that will keep the dome light off with the doors off.

And why bother with spring clips? Just pull the wires off the back of the door switches.

Thanks for the input guys. I did put the fuse back in and still no radio. I cheked the incoming power to the radio and got 12 volts. Factory radio still does not work. I think I have an extra after market sterio laying around, so I'll try that and get back to you guys.

I think I qualify for dummy of the month! After some more digging, and trying an aftermarket sterio I had laying around, I found out what I did. When I first pulled the fuse in the glove box, I looked up and saw the dome light was still on. Stupid me forgot the light had a time delay on it. I couldn't remember which fuse I pulled last summer, so I put the one in the glove box back in and went under the hood. I pulled that fuse a saw I had no dome light. I thought I was good to go. Of course I just cut off all accessory power to the interior. After more digging and thinking, I realized my mistake. Hopefully someone can learn from my stupidity!!! he he he
