Cherokees are not offroad vehicles, or perhaps better said, cherokees are not durable offroad vehicles without significant modifications and expense. It's always fun to read the posts regarding cherokees where the owner over time finds that the doors will not close after their recent trail ride. Cherokees do not have a frame to support the cab and absorb the body twisting moderate trails provide. Sure, some guys with Chrokees will never venture on these type trails and never have a problem except with ground clearance. Lifting a Cherokee without including some sort of supporting frame is a quick guarantee of body related problems in the near future if you do any four wheeling at all. The funniest post in regard to Cherokees was from a guy who wanted to cut the top off the cherokee; I guess what he really wanted was a real Jeep! When most people talk about Jeeps, it's assumed that they're speaking about a Wrangler or a CJ! Hey, Cuervo! Are you sure I really don't like Cherokees and GC's? Cherokees have their place in the market just like any other SUV. But, IMHO the Cherokee isn't a serious offroad vehicle; no more than those subarus I see commonly high centered near treeline on mountain trails. Tongue-in-cheek, knowing I'm stirring the pot!
