The 4x4 litght is telling you you shifted into 4wd via the transfer case. I just want to tell you both good luck, and we're all counting on you. The 4x4 litght is telling you you shifted into 4wd via the transfer case. Just to expand on this a bit, the sensor for the wheel lock light is looking at front driveshaft rotation. So, unless there's a malfunction, the front driveshift is spinning while you are moving. If you have auto hubs, I'd try backing up a few feet till the light coes out.
