I was wondering if there was a site that had the old Toyota sales brochures scanned and displayed online? I would like to see all of the photos and options available.

I have a 94 p/u and recently picked up an 88 Runner. While looking on auto sales sites and Ebay for a 4Runner I saw some pretty interesting vehicles. It is amazing what people try to sell. For example I saw a first gen 4runner that was blue but had this crazy yellow gold striping from front to back with a big 4x4 logo in the middle.was this a factory paint option? I guess it wouldn't be all that surprisng being it was the eighties and day glo and parachute pants were all the rage. Maybe its just me but finding out what was available when the vehicles were new has always interested me.

Also I wonder why no one has made a book on the history of Toyota 4x4's. With the long history of the landcruiser and 25 plus years of the pickups, 4runners and the newer vehicles it seems like there would be more than enough source material not to mention all the mods that are done? I go to the bookstores automotive/transportation section and could find two dozen books on the Mustang,Camaro and lots of other cars but not a single thing related to Toyota?
