Today as I was sitting in traffic I started to notice the smell of coolant but since I had my windows down, I thought it might have been coming from a couple of gardeners sitting in what seemed like a 1965 Datsun pickup truck that was in the other lane next to me. Of course with my luck when I got home and popped open the hood there it was. A nice little puddle of green coolant sitting on top of my sparkplug wire cap. I thought what a strange place for that to be. So anyways after a few minutes I found where the leak originated from...a tiny little crack right behind the bolt that seats a metal wiring harness. Bah! because I had a sudden flash back of when I tore a part the intake plenum to change the plugs and wires. So I'm assuming somehow during that task is when the crack developed only because I remember resting my hand on top of there many times when I was tearing stuff up.

The crack is barely noticeable so I'm thinking of maybe some kind of epoxy up in there to plug it up. Any opinions? I really don't want to buy a whole new assembly just for that, but at the same time I don't want it to get bigger.

the crack is here underneath and
right behind the bolt

If you really really want to epoxy it then use JB weld. I've seen it used on damn near anything and it holds up great. Just make sure you get the area as clean as possible!!!

It's cast aluminum so hopefully there's a formula for that.

Clean it very well with brakeclean ( green CRC works GREAT). Get JB Aluminum, thin with a bit of denatures alcohol & force into crack. Should work fine.

According to ALLDATA that part is called the "Water Outlet
Fitting Assembly". I'm going to try and fix it with the aluminum JB Weld as suggested and see if that holds up, hopefully.
