HELP!!!!!!! I'm usally on the Isuzu side but the wife's Jeep is giving me a head scratcher. I've heard that this is a common thing in jeeps that the header pipe cracks or in my case yesterday just below the collector it completely broke. So the question: Is there any trick to getting the bolts off the bottom side of the intake? I don't own a manual yet (haven't had the need until now and my son has my truck) so hopefully I can get some information tonight so I can get it off the jeep. Also the power steering pump looks like it's attached to the intake in some way. I would be very greatfully for any information. Thanks in advance. Year, make and model below.

It is a simple matter of unscrewing the bolts one at a time. A first timer prolly needs a good light to find them all. MOST need a long extension to get at the bolt head. Your real problem will be retorquing the bolts! Make sure you have em all up to specs before calling it quits. I always use a bit of locktite on them. It looks like I may not be able to buy a manual for this thing. So does anyone have the torque spec.s for the exhaust and intake bolts?? Oh yea and the sequence if any (I would think that there would be).
Thanks again, Carl

I tighten them from the inside out about 4 times ending with about 50 lbs. I don't use a torque wrench I use a short rachet and get em as tight as I can with that particular wrench... I'm guessing bout 50 lbs. But I do this in increments of bout 10 lbs to make sure the manifold is evenly tightned. Big Jim

I appreciate that Jim but I have a buddy that lives 5 minutes away that can do that for me. Not to mention I've made a drive across Texas to Cali. I would prefer not to do that again if I can help it.
