Ok so
In my other post, I stated that I was thinking of buying an 83 full sized SJ with a straight 6cyl. thing is I it runs nice but theres no oil psi on the gauge, Not sure if its just a sending unit, or there's really no oil psi, and trick to test th psi, (remember I didn't buy it yet so i can tear apart the motor, I took the oil cap off and felt psi coming out, any other tips would be great

If there is really NO pressure the lifters all collapse and make great noise! First thing to do is look at the lectric connection to the sender and make sure it is CLEAN and attached. If that is Ok then get a new one and install it.
Most times it is the sender and not the guage.

If there is enough room screw the sender out and screw in a gague right on the motor. Then you will know for sure. The gagues dont have to bespecif for oil. Any pressure gague will work for this and are available at the hardware stores or at auto parts stores or PEP Boys too.

The pressure you feel when you take off the oil-fill cap is not oil pressure, it's blow-by from worn rings. Pretty common on older motors. If it's not huffin' out alot of blue smoke, I wouldn't sweat it. And if it had no oil pressure, it wouldn't still be running.
