This topic has more than likely been coverd. So sorry if im beating a dead horse, but im lookin for advice on getting a lift kit for my 97 grand cherokee. I just got it 3 days ago a had a blast getting it coverd im mud for the first time. Im not looking to spend too much just find a good reliable, suspension kit. Looking to spend less than $600 Ive seen some in jc whitny for less than $200 but it has bad reviews and figure its kinda one of those "ya get what you pay for" kinda deals. Thnx

Lift and shocks. I can spend more. But there are other things that need attn. $600 is what i had budgeted. I know where to look and installation wont be a problem. This is just my first 4x4 and if im gonna make it trail redy im trying to do it right. Im just asking for advice on what will give me the best bang for my buck and since this is the first time im putting a lift on something, if there are any things i should look for. Special bushings, shocks, am i going to need to replace any linkage? Do i need a caster camber kit? Stuff like that, Im basically going to teach myself how lift my jeep and get it ready for the mud. Im just looking for advice on what set up will work best and tips from someone who has put a lift on a ZJ.

best advice would be to find a full suspension kit. Not something with just spacers and having to find all the other parts seperate. Spacers call for a bumpier ride anyways. Find somethin that has the full coils, all the linkage, and everything you'll need to do it right. It's easier cus you wont be buying everything seperate. On top of that a 3" lift doesn't call for much fabrication or mods. All the parts you'll need will be in the kit.
