Is it possible to put a 1987 landcruiser diesel engine in a 1992 pickup? If not, then which diesel engine can? What years did the diesel engines go in the pickups? I want to try a biodiesel conversion if possible with these engines.
Any answers welcome.

The company I used to work for used to import JDM hilux surfs straight from japan. The earliest ones we used to import were 1986 4Runners with 2.2 litre turbo diesels. From memory they weren't that much more powerful than the 2.2 N/A I have in mine. The later model surfs were alot more fun to drive. They had 3 litre turbo diesels in them. Pretty grunty machines they were. I'm pretty sure the engines were called 1KZN or something simular.
Just don't go for the 2.2 litre N/A engine like mine unless you like being overtaken by old grannys in wheelchairs. I've got extractors and a rampod style air filter and it's still a sluggish lump of steel.... but it's incredibly cheap on fuel and never runs hot (even on 40 C days).
