Just got my Doug Thorley Tri-Y Headers from Summit for $275.
Its model DTE-555Y for my 88 22re.
I went out on the road for test run and it opens up real quick on the throttle.Headers is hooked up to the stock muffler right now and later will go with 2 1/4 pipe with a Flowmaster set-up.

So it revs quicker, but is it faster ?

The Thorley is the only header I'd consider on a 22re due to it's tri-y design, which helps with torque at lower rpm.

Wheeler
i have an older hooker 421 definitally revs good and power band is ranged from 2500 to 5500, that is also with a stage 3 comp cam and 9.5:1 comp so its hard to say what exactly the header did by it self, but i know it opened the cam up quite a bit.

those doug thorly a just flat pretty. i have a buddy with that header and a 8" hi flo cat to magnaflow with 2 1/4 pipe. It works and sounds very nice. Take it from me 2 1/2 pipe is way to big and raspy sounding, kinda like a fart cannon honda, it suks.

nick on pain killers

Nice Vonka! A bit off-topic, but are you running any backspacing with those tires? I've got a set of rims for the project truck with some tired rubber on 'em that I'd like to justify setting up.
