Roll Me Over
The other Jim, from Fargo, had a 94 Trooper this year...for a total of 4 Troops. I noticed my rig's "rarity" also.

Just got home, long drive. Had lots of fun, though...ran Spike for the first time, and the rig ran great except for a timing belt tensioner problem unrelated to my mods

Serenity now!

So... not certain if I got to see everyone this year, but we sure did try. I made it out to the CG every night save Friday to see what was up and where people were running...

Worked out for the most part and if I didnt know what was up, I let someone know where we were running and when we planned to depart. It seems that every morning we were waiting for Carquest to open and finish up the replacement and buttoning up phase on the repairs to whichever vehicle.

What a trip, that was the best yet.
We had a great time, 8 days, 19 trails, 275 off road miles, unforgettable scenery and a great group to be running with.
My trails list:
Notem
Burr
Upper Muley Twist
Hole in the Rock
Elephant Hill
Hidden Canyon Overlook
Hidden Canyon Escape
Bartlett Overlook
Hidden Canyon
Pickle (walked it, determined that we could drive it, but time wasnt working in our favor with a later start)
Tusher Tunnel
Seven Mile Rim
Wipe Out Hill (not just the obstacle, but the trail)
Behind the Rocks
Bull Canyon
Little Canyon
Gold Bar Rim
Hurrah Pass
Chicken Corners
Jackson Hole

Things we visited:
Capitol Reef N.P.
Lake Powell (w/ferry ride)
Natural Bridges N.M.
Canyonlands N.P.
Arches N.P.
Lefthand Waterfall

Strange occurances and things of note:
Rental Car driven up the entrance to Behind the Rocks and gotten stuck across the trail by teenagers, makes for an interesting obstacle to get by (ever ramp a rental car? ) j/k We left it alone and went around, offered no help to them. (first group went around as it was abandoned, the responsible adults showed up just after we turned onto the trail to go up, and they had multiple people)
Brand new GMC pickup losing a freeze plug in the engine and spewing coolant/water all over the trail, and unable to hold more water. We double strapped (front and back, engine and brakes) to get him off the trail and to civilization. 1-1/4 ton axles and stupid low gearing arent only useful for crawling over rocks.
Elderly couple, backing up into a light pole at McD's, bouncing off and running into a parked 3 axle 5th wheel. Poor guy couldnt find the brake to stop while it occurred or after. Young family with the trailer were unreasonably rude and uncooperative.

Infirmary/Carnage witnessed:
Separated passenger collector exhaust flange on Loco, she sounded like a sprint car at throttle and a bubble machine at idle.
Overheating rigs (Zubicon, Loco, Amanda's XJ, and others)
Binding t-case, unwilling to shift in Dan's Sami
Broken body mount in Loco
Broken upper shock mount (rear) in Loco
Significant body damage (tailgate) on Loco from White Knuckle Hill
Major tranny issues in Loco, not shifting right, slipping out of gear
RamV on its lid on Upchuck
Blown rack and pinion on the Mayor's Rodeo
CV, upper A arm becoming unbolted on the Dakota
ruined motor mounts on the Dakota
busted CV/axle on Reed's Migo.
bent driveshaft (take your pick of rig)
something happened to Big Swede/Jim P/Gilbert/Uzi, but I dont know the full story
steering issue on Mike's JK
Zubicon caught a flat

All in all, it was an AWESOME trip, pics to follow.

Add 1 day, 5 more trails, and 81 miles to my total. O'ya and two bent LCA's..........my guess, White Knuckle Hill.

I was driving through the lot slowly on my way out when that family came walking across behind my door, at an angle where I couldn't really see them, and the wife gave me a snotty 'thanks for stopping' as I went by. They seemed like inconsiderate people...

No surprise there. Follow up on the advice that is in the search - just cut the old rack'pins' off and replace them with bolts rather than trying to get enough room to wiggle the old rack out...

Getting the Wheeling Fever
Let me start by thanking Steve and Keith for helping me out with my broken CV axle, they let me take up space in their garage overnight waiting for parts. and Steve lent me his doorless Dakota to cruse main st. with, you just can't beat this group of Isuzu fans, even those that have moved on to brand X. I looking forward to the next trip out maybe in the fall?
Had a great time, Thanks everyone, Reid

No worries... not like we were using the garage for anything anyway. (just a shop to wrench on the bested rigs, MUCH better than the grass or sand!) Besides. This way you were able to run a trail on Thur since everything else was already underway by the time your rig was buttoned up.

Didnt mind leaving later than the rest of the group because I knew we would catch up. (since they had quite a few with them)

That's what we are there for, to help each other out. Besides, the government style helping was fun. (There were already too many hands in the fire).

Sorry I never saw ya the rest of the week...
