Does anybody know how to deactivate the ABS? It conflicts with the rear air-locker. So I need an easy and low current way to deactivate the ABS with the same switch that I activate the rear locker.

Don't know how you might deactivate it only while the Locker is engaged, but if you unplug just one sensor that the ABS uses, it shuts off and the orange light shows up on your dash. For example, the passenger front wheel sensor is unplugged on my dad's Chevy Blazer and the whole system is turned off. Plug it back in and it's a functional system again.

What about using a double throw switch?
When you flip it to engage the locker it opens the connection to the ABS. Therefore disengaging the ABS and engaging the locker?

Hey that not fair, we are helping a guy that has an air locker, we can't get an air locker! <img src="/forums/images/graemlins/frown.gif" alt="" /> The best way I can think of is to cut one of the wires that goes to the rear axle and extend it into the cab to a switch. When you flip the switch to your air locker flip the other switch to disengage the ABS. You will know when it is deactivaded by the ABS light on the dash.

Dennis,
Just an FYI, these are the guys trying to manufactur the lockers for us in Greece. The more we can help simplify the system/design/process the greater the chance we can get them here in the states.

If you have ABS, it helps because with the rear locked, the front can be controlled a little better with the ABS to keep it from spinning and acting more like a limited slip in the front.

Wouldn't one abs front brake "pulse" both front wheels when locked? Could be scarry in a slippery situation at speed......but, then again, who would use lockers at any speed?

This works best if there is no traction aid in the front. The ABS pulses the front wheels and the one with traction gets more torque. Basically just like the way Mercedes works their 4wheel drive system that uses no lockers front or rear.
When a wheel slips the ABS stops it and the wheel with traction gets more torque.
