i apologize for not typing out your instructions, i am glad you figured it out ok. just curious, was it the plates on the x-member you had to grind so they'd fit between the frame rails? or something else?

looks good, hope you have fun. looks like it might need a little 1/2-1" spacer out back, though....

just my .02.

the only thing i had to grind was the spots were i was going to weld, the crossmember was tight but i just pounded it in as for the rear yea those tj springs just didn't get me the right hight so i will be trying something else

im curious about the relocation for the shocks at the back. I went and played around out behind the house, and at full articulation, just as the wheel was leaving the ground, i looked at the opposite side and with the rocksport springs in there, they are completely compressed as it is. will it even be possible to get more out of it by moving the shocks?
i am curious because, it is already time to replace my shocks in the rear, and if it will help i will do the relocation and get the different shocks for it.

thanks.

P.s. That front stinger style bumper is kick ass!!!

couple things- the lower coil retainers (half round tube pieces)- where'd you weld them and how? they were meant to go on the lower coil seats, one end on the nub in the center and the other end on the lower surface plate where the coil sits, welded in place. the best place to put them is on the inside facing sides of each coil plate. i'm just wondering where you put them. i see you got the bumpstops in the right place.

and for defboy- the way you get more wheel travel with this kit is mainly in extension, not further compression. putting the shocks at an angle means they extend less for the same amount of axle droop, so you can just keep extending until the shock runs out or something else, like brake cables, pulls tight.

back to kiarazy-

one note on your bolts for the x-member- turn them around or you might tear holes in your tire sidewall when you flex it up. because the kit allows a lot more droop, your stuffed tire will tip more, when it tips, it gets very close and may rub the frame, those threaded ends of the bolts may stick out enough to cut the tire.

Body Damage is Cool
Did you get your TJ springs of a soft or hard top. My TJ springs gave me allmost 4 inches exactly but I don't know if they were form a hard or soft top. Your Kia looks great by the way and with your rear shock relocation kit you will get awsome travel, that the next thing I would like to do to my boys. I'm trying to talk him into saleing it back to me.
