OK so I found a used 83 or 89 (Cant tell from the sticker) 6.2liter Diesel Suburban here locally. Body looks good, 2 dents. No noticable rust. The interior needs some work. Really just some TLC. they guy wants 1500 for it. Now, I have not heard it run but he says it runs great. I will be looking at this as a tow vehicle for my trooper. Wasn't really looking for a tow truck but this seems too good to pass up. What should I look for? The GVWR is 7000 so it owuld seem it could pull the troop.

I know this isn't going to be a speed demon, heck I don't drive fast anyway. It's just that after my tire coming off on the troop it is hard to drive it a lot on the road. haha

Thanks
Chris

I remeber reading that the early 6.2L diesel engine was not regarded as one of the best. If it's been maintained, and runs good, it should be more than capable of pulling the old Trooper.
