would a 22RE header work on a 20R or 22R head. This guy is selling one for $100 and asking for a fellow wheeler. I like to know if it would fit.
would year matter?

I think the 22re to 22r is no problem ,but the egr stuff might not fit perfect.

Won't work on the 20R head due to the round exhaust ports and the boltup between the pair. Would have to see the header for the latter.
22R head yes, if a 85+ head; the earlier ones were round also.
