Body Damage is Cool
Hey anyone here recarpeted a truck? Mine carpet has holes in it and mold from when it got wet. Can I just use flat carpet or does it have to be like molded to the floor?

It's going to be a whole lot easier if you find the premolded stuff. While you could use the flat stuff, it more than likely won't look and work as well as the premolded.

I recarpeted a Montero (yeah, i know... slightly different) with scraps left over from an office... it sucked, even using the old carpet as a template.

totally worth it to buy the carpet or vinyl from Acc-Mat or whoever.

Or herculine your carpet smile (yes, right on it)

I'm trying to find PVC shower pan liner in black. I pulled out the carpet since it was nasty, but those rubber floor covers are a bit pricey for the whole floor (about $200). I'm hoping that if I were to leave the liner in the sun it would get soft enough to "mold" into place, more-or-less.

Non-molded carpet is almost impossible to fit in and
get looking right.

Give Jerry a shout... He sells not only the new factory carpet(super expensive), but he also sells the AutoMat
after-market molded carpets.
He got me one for my '89 Trooper and my '92 Prelude.
They come a little over-sized, but when you lay them in
and cut the perimeter, they fit like a glove.
He could probably get you a pretty good deal on one.

I'll just have to find some thin carpet then. When I took it out I noticed the carpet in my pup wasn't molded. It was very thin though.

So are you referring to Jerry Lemond? I'd like to hear some of this too. I cut some outdoor carpet for the front of my Trooper. It seemed to work well but did have a fold or two that can be annoying if you're concered about it. Otherwise it works just fine.

I would prefer to have a vinyl liner if I could too.

Thanks!
Dana
