It starts with a 2" body lift, minimum.

For regearing, check out www.marlincrawler.com

The 3.0 to 3.4 swap is becoming popular here.

Thanks, and welcome! For the most part, your kids should be able to peek over your shoulder here. <img src="/forums/images/graemlins/kewl.gif" alt="" />

I've managed to consolidate most of the info that's been posted here in the past for the swap; just got to tweak it a little more; some good info has come in on this to make it doable.

Best place to start is with fleabay and www.car-part.com to see if you can find a dedicated rig for a donor.

Hi,

Pirate can be rough.
See this link for a few pic's and detials of my swap.
Your 3.0 is already broke and you have plans to keep and built the 4runner. To me that is enough reason to do the swap. My swap experience has been nothing but super. I have more that 6000 miles on it without any negative issue. I have taken it cross country on the highway and it is such a much better experience than highway travel with the 3.0 long distance.
