Getting the Wheeling Fever
I saw this listed in the Specialized part Number Repository:

Part # : MD705462 - Gear, Speedometer Drive (N=22): For 4.625 gearing and 33" tires
Other parts to go with that assembly:
MF472536 - Spring Pin, Speedometer Drive Gear (3x16mm)
MD701788 - O-ring, Speedometer Drive Gear (10.3mm)
MF520403 - O-ring, Speedometer Drive Gear Casing (35mm)

What I can't figure out (my truck isn't near me right this second) is if my truck has the 4.625 gears to be able to use this, and if I need the other parts to go with it.
Would be a nice cheap $20 fix to make my speedo accurate, as I have 33 x 12.50s.

My truck is an 85 SWB 2.6L / 5-Speed.

It is most likely that your truck has the 4.625 gears, with the 4.875's being the option. Try as I might, I have not found 4.875's in a Gen I (YET!!!).

Need a Spot
this may sound like a pretty noob question... but how do you find out what gears you have?

cars:
88' montero SWB (turbo 2.6l project)
03' S2000w/hardtop (daily ride)
91' crx dx (my never ending project)

Check the information plate on the firewall... it'll say either 4625 or 4875. I'll leave it to you to add a decimal and round it off. That's your homework.

I helped a buddy sell a Gen II about 2 years ago. In hindsight, I still maybe could have used two parts from it. It was equipped with the rear locker and 4.875's, but what a beat truck.

The only things under the hood are a plate on the firewall that tells you the engine model, which I think was G54B, then the emmisions info sticker under the hood, then the idle set screw/vacuum routing sticker, then the one that's half japanese about something.
I then looked on the doorjamb, but that only tells the build date, GVWR, and tire size.

I'm still stumped on finding out the gear ration on this thing.

it is the one on the firewall that tells engine size.tward the bottom it should say somthing like axle code.
