So on ebay a while back I found these risers that fit on the hinges of a cherokee's hood and causes the back of the hood to lift up a lil letting more air in making like a full cowl induction I guess you could say. I cant seem to find them now so I was curious if someone knew where to find them. Also, what's your insight on these. I was thinkin that if there was a gap then water would be able to get in a lot easier maybe causing problems. Any insight?

Water? Yes and also fogging up the windshield from the heat being vented. I'm pretty sure the fan pressure would overcome any hint of a cowel induction you might have in mind.

If you are wanting to raise the back of the hood to reduce underhood temps, then you dont need to buy any special spacers on Ebay. Just fabricate some spacers out of almost anything, use some longer bolts, and put the spacers between the hinges and the hood. BTW, thats and old car-guy's trick from way back. It has very little if anything to do with cowl induction. It was done to combat overheating, and it usually helps. It will let some water in. If you're not doing any deep river crossing, I wouldn't sweat it.

Yeah, my buddy owns a import car shop, they sell those hood risers AKA hood spacers.... To make a long story short even he said they're a waste of $$. And he sells them!!!

They also make it look like your hood wont close right. <img src="/forums/images/graemlins/barf.gif" alt="" />
