Need a Spot
Hi I'm still pretty new to the lift thing. My friends and I go mudding all the time and I would like to put bigger tires on my truck. It is a 1987 4x4 SR5 5speed. I was planning on buying some $220/set of rockcrawler wagon wheel rims and throwing some 31 x 10.5 on them. Will they fit with stock suspension or do I need a body/suspension lift??
Also what size could I go up to with what lifts?
The biggest tire I will want to run is 33's.

Thank you.
LDeuce.

As long as you keep the wheels close to stock width/backspacing, 31x10.50 should fit fine. Go too wide or too little backspacing (less than 4.75") and you may need some lift to clear, at least up front.

Thank you for the info. In other forums I would have gotten flamed. I like this place it's a little more mature.

Roll Me Over
I was able to clear 33x12.50 15's w/3.75 BS on this '86 with only a 2" BL.

The tires rubbed only on full lock and not at all after beating down the inner fender seam.

You should be able to clear 32's with some inner fender modification w/o a body lift. Also the type of tire can also effect clearance, not all tires are the same size, some run smaller than others sized the same.

More than tread lightly. Leave it like you were never there, nor anyone else.

Spend $166.00 shipped om Cragar Soft 8's from Summit. Can't beat the price. They're 4" back spaced so as long as you can afford anther 1/4" inboard you're all set.
