Getting the Wheeling Fever

Just returned from Taiwan last week (the reason I missed the Moab ZuZoo this year). Saw this model called Isuzu Panther. It has familiar looks but different, more like minivan. This is the only Isuzu I saw other than large commercial trucks. Isuzu Panther Isuzu Panther

The front end and taillights look like an early pickup/amigo/rodeo to me and the headlights look like an early rodeo's.

it looks like a rodeo, a trooper, and a dodge caravan all got blended together.

The crosswind looks much nicer.
Kinda odd seeing trooper rear doors on a mini van with 1st gen rodeo front end.

I was just in Japan for 4 days (got back yesterday) and I didn't see 1 Isuzu on the streets of Nagoya...... Isuzu does not sell passenger cars or SUV's any more, except commercial trucks. I've heard that with the regulation on diesels, it is not possible to register diesel powered vehicles in some cities. Someone mentioned on Japanese board that he's giving up his diesel Trooper because of that.

Body Damage is Cool

I'm on Batam Island, Indonesia right now (and for the next few months) and I've seen them around too. Lots of cool vehicles out here- high roof samurais, land cruisers of all types from 40-80 series in amazing shape, wierd stuff I've never seen, etc. I need to get some pics. One of the first vehicles I saw when I got off the ferry from Singapore was a RHD 1st gen turbo diesel trooper. I wish I could ship a container of 4x's home. <img src="/forums/images/graemlins/smile.gif" alt="" />
