Just wondering if a v8 power steering bracket will mount to a pump off a 258, is there a difference in the v8 pump and the I6 pump?? Or can I just use the I6 pump and bracket and mount it on a v8 with out and problems?? Does anyone know of anywhere that sells brackets and what not other then a bone yard or ebay??

Highly doubtful the bracket is interchangable... For the pump itself look up BOTH pumps at the local parts house... If the same part number comes up you are good to go.

If you want I have an AMC V8 in my GW and have a spare bracket I can take a pic of for ya to compare. I'm not real familiar with the Jeep 6's as they are rare in the FSJs that I know and love. <img src="/forums/images/graemlins/smile.gif" alt="" />

I would bet ya dollars to donuts the PS pumps are the same Saginaw -- or nearly so. On the FSJs there was a switchover during the 80's between compression and o-ring fittings IIRC which aren't interchangeable. As AMC was a bit on the cheap side it'd make sense they'd build one bracket for multiple applications across 2 decades. <img src="/forums/images/graemlins/smile.gif" alt="" />
