I am looking to buy a lift kit from Skyjacker and there are two options for me: a 3.25in wide rear u-bolt or a 2.5in wide rear u-bolt. Where do you measure this width on the bolt? Inside width or outside width?

I just put a 3" Skyjacker lift on my 84 pickup, and I'm very happy with the quality with one exception...The Nylocks they provide for the u-bolts. On 4 of them I got the nylock about halfway on and it would lock up tighter than a (add your favorite metaphor here), and on one the Nylon insert came out. I ended up going out and buying nuts and lockwashers for all of them. Trying to get them off to replace with the nuts and lockwashers was harder than when they locked up going on. Had to use a 2ft. breaker bar. I know they're supposed to be snug so they don't fall off, but dang, these were darn near impossible. <img src="/forums/images/graemlins/angry.gif" alt="" />

Yeah I won't be getting the lift that soon. The only lift for my pickup on their site is the 4 inch. Where did you find that 3 inch? I am not too happy to be spending over a thousand on a lift.
